Telangana’s Nandi Awards To Be Given In Dubai

Ever since the united Andhra Pradesh got bifurcated, neither the newly formed sunrise state of Andhra Pradesh nor the cash-rich Telangana state is giving any awards to the film industry. Earlier, the United AP used to present Nandi Awards to the film fraternity, to appreciate their best work. And here comes the twist now.

Many thought that Chandrababu Naidu will revive the Nandi culture in the new state of AP but that got halted after the awards given by the new-AP state got dubbed as casteist ones, as they have ignored some really good films and commercially successful films. Later, YS Jagan was expected to honour the Tollywood fraternity in an honest way, but his government completely ignored any such boosters of Tollywood though they focused on lowering the ticket rates. Here comes Telangana into the game now.

Other day, the Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce confirmed that they are going to present Nandi Awards for the last 7 years, all at once, at a specially designed program in Dubai. Including Rajamouli’s father Vijayendra Prasad, they have confirmed that along with Dubai’s king, many Telangana ministers will take part in the award ceremony.

We have to see if Andhra Pradesh also announces any such stuff or they will keep silent as usual.
