Kannada Actor Sampath Died By Suicide, Prank Gone Wrong?

Kannada television actor Sampath J Ram was found dead at his residence in Nelamangala near Bengaluru on Sunday. He was 35. Sampath died by suicide.

Sampath was popular in the TV show Agnisakshi. Sampath’s wife is currently 5 months pregnant. His death has sent shock waves across the industry.

The exact reasons for Sampath J Ram’s suicide is not known, but the rumors say that the lack of work opportunities may have led him to take the unwanted decision.

Sampath’s co-star in Agnisakshi, Vaisshnavi revealed that he was a go-getter and she could not understand what drove him to do this at this point of time.

Actor-director Rajesh Dhruva says that Sampath’s death was a prank gone wrong. Dhruva says, ‘Around 2 am on Sunday morning, I got a call from a few mutual friends of ours, saying something is wrong and we have to rush to the hospital. At first, I thought it was some kind of a prank. But, when I reached Nelamangala Hospital, I realized what had happened. Sampath’s sister had brought him in. He and his wife had a minor argument. He threatened to kill himself if she didn’t talk to him. He didn’t mean to… Things went wrong.

‘He was such a happy person. He had no issues in life. He had a lot of opportunities lined up as well. He was critically acclaimed in the industry and we always talked about the kind of films we’d do. He had a lot left to do but he went away too soon,’ he concluded.
