Character actress Karate Kalyani was suspended from MAA. Movie Artiste’s Association General Secretary Raghu Babu issued a notice that MAA has canceled her membership and is suspended from the association.
The notice mentioned the reason why Karate Kalyani was suspended from MAA. Karate Kalyan made some comments on NTR’s statue to be inaugurated in Khammam, objecting to the statue being in Lord Sri Krishna’s avatar. She warned that the statue would be vandalized if inaugurated and she also said the Yadava community is upset over this.
MAA President Manchu Vishnu issued a show cause notice to Karate Kalyani after considering her comments unwarranted. Karate Kalyani gave her explanation on 16th May but MAA panel was not convinced by that. And according to the norms and regulations, MAA issued a suspension on Karate Kalyani. It has to be seen how Karate Kalyani would respond to the suspension.
Meanwhile, the Telangana High Court refused to give permission to install a statue of NTR in Lakkaram Lake in Khammam on May 28. The vacation court headed by Justice K. Lakshamanan declined to give any relief and also suspended the proceedings issued by the principal secretary of the irrigation department.
The court agreed with the contentions of Chelikani Venkat Yadav who appeared for Yadava Sangam opposing the statue installation as NTR was depicted as Lord Krishna. Earlier, the statue committee made changes like removing the flute and crown.
