Big Update on Kantara 2

Sensational pan-India actor Rishab Shetty announced the highly anticipated sequel to the blockbuster film Kantara some time back. And now, there’s a major update regarding the film that Kantara 2 is set to commence filming on August 27. The team is pumped about the same.

According to reports, the shooting for Kantara 2 will begin in the next two months, with the launch date scheduled for August 27, 2023. Vijay Kiragandur, the founder of Hombale Films, mentioned that Rishab planned to start shooting in August to capture the essence of the rainy season, as a portion of the film requires such weather conditions. 

Furthermore, the budget for the sequel is higher than that of the first part, which was made on a low budget but turned out to be a massive hit. The makers are planning to not compromise in production and come out with a quality product.

Interestingly, the film is not a sequel but a prequel to Kantara. Rishab began working on the script of Kantara 2 in March, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Ugadi, and he has now finalized the draft. He also confirmed that the film is slated for a theatrical release in 2024.

Kantara 2 will also release in multiple languages across the country.
