Sankranthi festive period is one of the major business seasons in the Telugu film industry. Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya and Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy locked horns during the Pongal festive season this year. While the former became a blockbuster, the latter became a super hit.
Going by the current scenario, there is a huge waitlist for the Sankranthi next year. Already it was announced that Prabhas’s Project K will hit the screens on January 12, 2024. Today, it was confirmed that Prashanth Varma’s Hanuman will be released on the same day.
Dil Raju is planning to release the Vijay Deverakonda-Parasuram movie simultaneously. Ravi Teja’s Eagle also booked a seat for the Sankranthi release. Chiranjeevi’s next with Kalyana Krishna also aims to release during the same season.
Nani’s next movie is slated for a Christmas release. If it gets postponed, the film may arrive during Sankranthi. As of now, these are the films that are in the Sankranthi race. As the time approaches, we will have to observe the number of films vying for the competition and those choosing to withdraw.
