Twitter’s New Post-Viewing Rule Criticized Badly

Ever since billionaire Elon Musk bought out Twitter, a set of new rules are being introduced each day, which are not only shocking but also troubling the users who got accustomed to using the free model of the app. He first introduced a paid service for ‘blue ticks’ and then brought a lot of changes to the algorithm as well as the security of it. Here comes the new punch.

All this while many thought that Twitter will charge people only if they want blue ticks, but now, you have to pay if you want to use the app as well. The twist is that a limit is introduced now to view posts every day as a free user can view only 600 posts in a day, while a verified (paid) user can see nearly 6000 posts in a 24-hour window. That means, if you refresh Twitter a couple of times in a day, you will simply exceed the limit and won’t be able to see the new tweets in the timeline. If you want your feed to be updated, then you have to pay!

For a country like India where wars do happen on Twitter between political parties, their fans, movie lovers and others, this 600-posts per day limit is going to affect the user experience badly. While some media folks are already threatening that they will quit Twitter and join some other platform, others have criticised Elon Musk for devising plans to milk out lots of money. But then, a businessman who invested a lot of money into something will always look for ways to monetise it know?
