Before the Global Investors Summit, AP CM YS Jagan Reddy announced in New Delhi that Vizag is going to be the capital of Andhra Pradesh state. He went on to add that very soon he would move to Vizag as well. It’s been nearly four months and CM Jagan continues to administer from Tadepalli camp office in Amaravati.
So when will CM Jagan or the AP government begin administration from Vizag? A journalist shot this question at AP education minister Botsa Satyanarayana and his reply says it all.
“Yes we are coming soon Vasta.… Bye… See you,” was Botsa’s response and that’s really a shocker. With the minister’s comments, it is evident that the YCP government brought a hype to Vizag city ahead of the Global Investors summit. In reality, the state government has no intention of shifting to Vizag in the near future.
Shifting capital is no easy task and the YCP government seems to have realized this fact lately. Yet YCP can’t be underestimated because CM Jagan might take a call on the capital just before the general elections and take political advantage from it.
