Ivana Bets High On Tollywood

Tollywood enjoys the tradition of casting girls from other states for female lead roles. Apart from the North Indian beauties, the Chennai girls have excelled big time in Telugu. Now, another Chennai-born actress, Ivana, is making her entry into Telugu films.

Ivana began her acting journey as a child artist and later got her break as a heroine in the Tamil movie “Nachiyar.” Subsequently, she played a side role in a Siva Karthikeyan starrer. However, her lead role in the movie “Love Today” brought her widespread recognition and opened up numerous opportunities for her.

Her success in “Love Today” caught the attention of prominent Telugu producer Dil Raju, who offered her a significant role in his movie “Selfish,” featuring Ashish in the lead. Ivana’s role is said to be crucial to the film’s plot.

Dil Raju, known for his astute calculations, is planning to take Ivana to the top league in Tollywood. He has reportedly signed an agreement with Ivana for two more films besides “Selfish.” If “Selfish” becomes a hit, Ivana’s popularity in Telugu cinema is expected to soar.

With the scarcity of heroines in Telugu films, introducing new talents in movies featuring star heroes has become a trend. If Ivana succeeds with “Selfish,” she may have the opportunity to work with top heroes and establish herself as a sought-after actress in the industry.

The actress’s new film Let’s Get Married, produced by MS Dhoni, is in the theatres in Tamilnadu. The film opened to negative reviews and is due for a release in Telugu on Friday. We have to see if this movie will add mileage to her career before she makes it big in Telugu cinema.
