Kartikeya Gummakonda’s ‘Bedurulanka 2012’ is slated to be released on August 25. The film is set on an island named Bedurulanka in the year 2012. The trailer, which was unveiled today, establishes the nature of Kartikeya’s character. At one point, he says that he can’t do something he doesn’t believe in. “It is about self-respect, not ego,” he thunders.
The trailer (released today via social media by Global Star Ram Charan) begins with the media talking about the strange belief that the world will come to an end on December 21, 2012. Nothing happens on that day. While it is business as usual in the rest of the world, in Bedurulanka (whose geographical isolation is shown through a shot), the situation is peculiar.
Kartikeya’s character, who returns from a city, confronts the arrogant duo played by Goparaju Ramana and Ajay Ghosh. The latter later joins hands with two other wily characters (played by Srikanth Iyengar and ‘Auto’ Ram Prasad) to fool the gullible villagers.
Neha Shetty of ‘DJ Tillu’ fame looks comfortable in the rom-com track. She has scenes with the ‘RX 100’ hero. The duo are expected to have played to their type.
Mani Sharma’s BGM and songs are among his best works, he recently said. The dramedy also features Satya, Raj Kumar Kasireddy, Vennela Kishore (he is a news presenter along with ‘Getup’ Srinu) and LB Sriram (as a wise elder).
Produced by Ravindra Benerjee Muppaneni, who has previously made the National Award-winning ‘Colour Photo’, the film is presented by C Yuvaraju.
