Amid the ongoing debate surrounding India’s potential name change to Bharat, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has made a significant alteration to the title of his upcoming film. Previously named ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Indian Rescue,’ the film will now be known as ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue.’ The makers released the film’s teaser.
The movie draws inspiration from a real-life incident at the Raniganj Coalfield. It is based on the heroic actions of the Late Shri Jaswant Singh Gill, who led a coal mine rescue mission in Bharat. Jaswant Singh Gill played a pivotal role in saving trapped miners from a flooded coal mine in Raniganj in November 1989, making it a remarkable and successful rescue mission in Bharat’s history.
The film features a star-studded cast, including Akshay Kumar, Parineeti Chopra, Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, Varun Badola, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Mukesh Bhatt, Omkar Das Manikpuri, and more.
The film is scheduled for a grand release on October 6, 2023.
