Salaar: Strategically Moved To March?

Prabhas’ Salaar would have been in the peak promotional phase had the makers not decided to postpone the film’s release. However, it appears that there is very little chance for Prabhas fans to see the film this year. Meanwhile, the news in circulation is that the film’s producers informed its distributors about the delay in finalizing a release date and it would not be made anytime soon.

While the original plan was to release the film in November or December, the producers have decided to postpone it to next year due to the competition and the desire for a solo release. However, releasing the film during the Sankranti festival is not on the producers’ list.

Director Prashant Neel is reportedly working on locking in the release date for March 22, 2024, which is three days before the release of “RRR.” This date allows for a pre-summer release and grants the advantage of potential success at the box office during the Summer.

The international release of “Salaar” also needs to be carefully managed to avoid clashes with Bollywood and Hollywood films, as overseas screens may not be available if there is competition. Additionally, the trailer for “Salaar” might be released on Prabhas’s birthday in October.

At the same time, if the release is confirmed for next year, the promotion is expected to start closer to the release date, and not anytime soon. Until the director or producer officially announces details, the suspense surrounding the film’s release date is likely to continue.
