Tollywood is known for its fast-paced and competitive nature, where multiple films often release on the same day, vying for the audience’s attention. In this bustling environment, a film titled ‘Mad’ quietly displayed dominance at the box office.
With its unique marketing strategy and youthful appeal, ‘Mad’ has managed to capture the spotlight in a crowded field of recent releases.
The makers of ‘Mad’ chose to introduce the movie directly to the audience with a teaser, catching everyone by surprise. The teaser, showcasing the film’s youthful and energetic vibe, generated considerable interest among moviegoers. As anticipation grew, the trailer further fueled the excitement.
Originally slated for release on September 28, ‘Mad’ faced some stiff competition from other films, including ‘Salar.’ However, the team decided to hold firm on that date for a while. Eventually, they made the strategic move to shift the release to October 6.
Films like ‘Mama Mashchindra,’ ‘Rules Ranjan,’ ‘Month of Madhu,’ ‘800,’ and ‘Chinna’ joined the race on October 6th. With such an array of choices, audiences were faced with a dilemma – which film to choose from the many available options.
But, ‘Mad’ managed to distinguish itself as the film of choice for many. While other films struggled to make an impact at the box office, ‘Mad’ garnered positive reviews and started drawing crowds from its very first show.
As the weekend progressed, ‘Mad’ steadily gained momentum. The film, which caters to a youth-oriented audience, performed exceptionally well during evening and night shows on Saturday, filling theaters to capacity.
The positive word-of-mouth only added to its appeal. It’s worth noting that the following week doesn’t see any noteworthy releases, providing ‘Mad’ with an opportunity to continue its strong performance for another week.
Kalyan Shankar is the film’s director. Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas jointly bankrolled the movie.
