When the first-ever teaser of Kannada hero Sivarajkumar’s GHOST came out, many got connected to the ‘The Original Gangster’ tag, which is actually the title of Pawan Kalyan’s next film, “They Call Him #OG”. Though the teaser raised lots of expectations, many are wondering why there is no sound about the movie to date, as the Telugu version is expected to hit cinemas on October 27th.
Apparently to avoid a clash with the likes of Bhagwant Kesari, Leo and Tiger Nageswara Rao who released on Dasara eve (Oct 19, 20), the release of Sivarajkumar’s Ghost Telugu version was kept on hold. The Kannada version was released on 19th October and opened to a lukewarm response though the first day openings are good.
However, there is no talk about the film’s Telugu version date or release, as neither the Kannada producers nor the Telugu release distributor Dil Raju are talking about it. So far, there is no single media interaction, nor announcement posters or any kind of publicity around, pushing the film’s presence into oblivion.
Usually, even if a film fails to click in the original language, the makers indulge in lots of promotion in other states such that there will be a good opening. Provided with the fact that the content has lots of mass appeal, many are wondering why even the Telugu state distributors are keeping mum about the release. However, in a month or so, the film might make its OTT debut on Zee5, the streaming partner.
