Thug Life Vs Indian 2: Sakthivel Got The Edge Over Senapathy?

Almost 4 years after his Viswaroopam II, Kamal Haasan came up with Vikram and it has become such a huge blockbuster that the Ulaganayagan’s every move and movie from there is a sensation again. Kamal Haasan will be next seen in Prabhas’ Kalki, KH233, Indian 2 and of course Thug Life.

The teaser of Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life in Mani Ratnam’s direction was released today and it garnered attention like no other movie of Kamal Haasan in recent times. With nearly a gap of 35 years, Kamal Haasan is joining hands with Mani Rathnam.

Not only that, but their previous movie Nayagan has the lead character Shakthivel Nayakar aka Velu played by Kamal Haasan, and again in Thug Life, the man will be seen as Rangaraya Shakthivel Nayakar. Many theories are coming up on Thug Life just with the name and it has to be seen how far they would be true. Some opine that it is a Nayagan spin off while others feel it is a period gangster drama. Also, the expectations of a Kamal Haasan – Mani Rathnam combination are always high and Thug Life is not an exception. The teaser intrigued the fans and general audience alike due to the ‘Yakuza’ reference and the enticing action promo.

Well, just a few days back, Kamal Haasan’s other sensational movie’s sequel teaser came out. But that was ridiculed by the fans. Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 teaser was released and Kamal’s fans denounced it for the old-school making of the movie. Also, the BGM from Anirudh appeared mediocre, unlike his last three films. Indian 2 has other talented actors like Siddharth, Rakul Preet and Kajal while Thug Life has Trisha, Jayam Ravi and Dulquer Salmaan.

The social media started comparing Rangaraya Shaktivel Nayakar to the Senapathy of Indian 2 and most of them felt that Sathivel Nayakar impressed and hyped them better than Senapathy. For now, they are just teasers and it has to be seen how the two movies enthrall the audience.
