Amitabh Bachchan has reportedly gifted his valued bungalow, ‘Prateeksha,’ worth approximately Rs 50.63 crore, to his daughter Shweta Bachchan. The ownership transfer, completed on November 8 through two separate gift deeds, involved a stamp duty payment of Rs 50.65 lakh. Prateeksha, located in Juhu, is Amitabh’s first home and holds sentimental value, as he lived there with his parents during the early years of his career.
The name ‘Prateeksha’ was given by his father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, and is derived from a line in his works that signifies a welcoming abode for all. In his blog, Amitabh reminisced about the family’s experiences in Prateeksha, from the children growing up around it to celebrating birthdays and festivals under the shade of a GulMohar tree.
The bungalow played a significant role in family events, including the grand wedding of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. With this generous gift, the legacy of Prateeksha continues within the Bachchan family.
