That’s Difference Between Rajamouli & Prashanth Neel!

Salaar might be breaking box office records and setting the screens ablaze with Prabhas’ massive screen presence, but the film also drew mixed talk. Critics are divided over Salaar. While a few hailed it as a perfect mass actioner, others expressed several concerns and shortcomings.

After KGF’s massive blockbuster (part 1 and part 2) and before Salaar’s release, director Prashanth Neel is compared to SS Rajamouli. No doubt, Prashanth Neel has taken the Kannada film industry to the next level and got Pan India recognition. No doubt, it is Prashanth Neel who unleashed Yash as a global star. These have garnered him national recognition and fame.

On the other hand, SS Rajamouli scored magnum opus Baahubali films (part 1 and part 2) and RRR. RRR even got the Oscar award (Best Original Song) and other global awards.

The thin difference between SS Rajamouli and Prashanth Neel lies in the narration and the establishment of the story and characters in the very early stages, i.e., way before the film’s release. So that it will make audiences prepared and well-informed about the story and characters and the world they are part of.

SS Rajamouli has a 100% success rate, and he sets the right expectations for his movies by revealing key details and also introducing the characters and their behavior. Prashanth Neel’s success rate is also akin to Rajamouli. But he has failed in Salaar to establish the details like the three tribes – Mannars, Shouryaangas, and Ghaniyars. Khansaar world and characters were not revealed before the film’s release. What is strange and ironic is that these tribes and their characters get introduced in the second half, keeping the audience in confusion. This led many audiences to get confused about the story, characters, and names in the second half, leaving them unable to follow the film.

Now many are opining that this is the clear difference between Rajamouli and Prashanth Neel. Rajamouli makes it simple for the audience and makes the film understandable as he narrates lucidly. The another key difference is the emotion that Rajamouli establishes in his films. Sample RRR, it also deals with the friendship of Ram and Bhim. The way their bond and emotions are established shows Rajamouli’s directorial brilliance. Unfortunately, Salaar fails to connect emotionally.

Having said the above, each director is different from one another and can’t be compared. But as the comparisons are being talked about widely on social media and other public forums and public talks, it is noteworthy to observe the differences between the two acclaimed filmmakers.
