Kollywood’s veteran director SA Chandrasekhar, the father of actor Vijay has recently shared some comments that have attracted controversy. SA Chandrasekhar shared his views about the directors of this generation and that they lack the courage to accept criticism. Chandrasekhar emphasized the importance of screenplay in filmmaking and criticized the trend of directors relying solely on star power.
SA Chandrasekhar recounted an incident where he offered constructive feedback to a director after watching a film before its release. While the director appreciated his comments on the first half, he allegedly dismissed the suggestions for improvements in the second half, claiming he was busy and would call back later.
“He was happy when I showered compliments on him for the first half, but he told me that he would call me back, which never happened,” said SA Chandrasekhar.
These comments have sparked discussions in the Tamil film industry, especially regarding the recent film ‘Leo,’ directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Some netizens feel that SA Chandrasekhar was indirectly talking about the film Leo and its director Lokesh.
