Superstar Rajinikanth’s Lal Salaam is set to release next week on the 9th, with the dubbed version scheduled for release in Telugu on the same day. Lyca Productions bankrolled the film and opted for a minimal release in Telugu. The team is aligned with the agreement to have fewer theatres for the film. But this is a big shocker for a film featuring Superstar Rajinikanth.
Despite Rajinikanth’s recent blockbuster Jailer, the producers of Lal Salaam are not aiming to get a decent release for the film. Even in terms of promotions, the makers held a grand pre-release event in Chennai, where the film’s director, Aishwarya Rajinikanth, got emotional. Even Rajinikanth delivered an emotional speech.
There is no publicity for the film in Telugu currently. Although Rajinikanth plays a guest role in the film, his screen presence would be there constantly. The reports say that his character length will be like the one he played in Peddarayudu.
Laal Salaam is a cricket sports drama with music composed by AR Rahman, and Aishwarya Rajinikanth directs it. The competition with “Eagle” and “Yatra 2” poses a challenge, especially considering the lack of significant marketing efforts to reach the masses. Additionally, the lack of a strong market presence for the main hero, Vishnu Vishal, impacts the film’s hype.
Whatever it may be, the Rajini factor would easily fetch the attention of the film, but unfortunately, the efforts from the makers are negligible.
