Popular social media influencer Soumya Shetty has been arrested by the Vizag City police. Soumya Shetty is allegedly involved in a gold theft case.
A retired government employee Prasad Babu reported the theft of 150 tolas of gold ornaments. Soumya who was a frequent visitor to Prasad Babu’s house to see his daughter Maunika, reportedly observed the valuables.
Soumya allegedly entered the bedroom through their bathroom repeatedly and stole gold ornaments. Maunika’s family members notice he missing gold upon returning from a wedding. With the help of fingerprints and CCTV footage from the flat, police questioned eleven individuals including Soumya Shetty.
Vizag police arrested Soumya Shetty and registered an FIR in the case. After executing her plan to steal gold, Soumya Shetty is said to have made plans to visit Goa. Soumya Shetty reportedly confessed to her involvement in the gold theft and police recovered 74 grams of gold.
Soumya said she couldn’t return the rest of the gold and allegedly threatened to end her life.
