Why Anupama Was Picked for Tillu Square

DJ Tillu is one of the interesting blockbusters in Telugu. Starring Siddhu Jonnalagadda in the lead role, the film has got enough elements to pull crowds to theatres. Neha Shetty played the leading lady role in the film. However, for the sequel, Tillu Square, the makers opted for a heroine change. Anupama Parameswaran stepped in to play the leading lady.

When Anupama was finalized for the heroine role, there were a lot of questions about her selection. Now, director Mallik Ram has given some clarity on the reason why they chose Anupama for the heroine’s role.

According to the director, Anupama plays Lilly in the film, which is an extremely difficult character to essay. “A lot of people walked in, and all the time we were testing. At that time, Anupama too came, and she left because of dates, but she happened to come on board again. She was the right actress for this role. I saw her previous movies with Ram and others, and I liked the way she looked and acted,” said the director, appreciating her that she played her part well.

The film is currently in the promotions phase and the presence of Anupama is helping the film a lot. The film is hitting the screens on 29th March, 2024.
