Ticket sales are the parameters for any film’s success. The commercial success will any day bring smiles to the faces of producers, and Kalki 2898 AD is one film in recent times that has created new records at the ticket windows. On BookMyShow, the film registered a sale of one crore tickets.
Interestingly, the platform witnessed a sale of more than 300K tickets in the initial two days of release. But during the first weekend, the film witnessed a double margin in sales. After that, there was a big hike in sales, and in a few days, more than one million tickets went for sale.
On the whole, the platform sold tickets close to 103 lakhs, which is loosely over 1 crore tickets. In the earlier days, the producers and distributors used to keep a tab on the ticket sales and rarely do we see such a big thing happening.
The film’s tickets were also sold offline and on platforms like PayTM and hence the number is much bigger.
Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film featured Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan.
