Actress Hema, recently released on bail in a rave party case in Bengaluru, met with Manchu Vishnu, the president of the Movie Artistes Association (MAA), to renew her membership.
MAA, which represents actors in the Telugu cinema industry, had terminated Hema’s membership after her arrest in the rave party drug case. Hema argued that MAA acted hastily, making a decision without giving her a chance to explain her side or issuing a show-cause notice.
Now cleared of the case, Hema has requested MAA to reinstate her membership. Hema is a noted artist who has shown her versatility from time to time in different roles as a mother, sister-in-law, and sister in films. She was among those arrested by Bengaluru police for organizing rave parties where drugs were used and sold.
Hema has appealed to Manchu Vishnu and met him personally on the same. Neither Vishnu nor the association has opened up on the same.
