Vijay Sethupathi’s latest film, ‘Maharaja’, has been making waves since its OTT debut on Netflix on July 12, 2024. The Tamil-language action thriller, which hit theaters in June, has now found a new audience on the streaming platform, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.
Telugu movie lovers, in particular, are hailing ‘Maharaja’ as one of the best films they’ve ever seen. The movie’s unique storyline, brilliant performances, and excellent direction have struck a chord with viewers across the southern states. Sethupathi’s portrayal of the lead character, Maharaja, a barber seeking revenge for the theft of his prized possession, an iron dustbin, has been widely praised.
But it’s not just the southern audience who are raving about the film. North Indian movie lovers have also joined the chorus, declaring ‘Maharaja’ as a must-watch. The movie’s universal appeal and its ability to emotionally charge up the watcher made it a hit with audiences across the country.
One of the most notable reactions to the film has been the creation of hilarious memes. A particularly popular meme has been circulating, which uses lines from the 2002 Telugu film ‘Nenithe’, starring Venu Madhav. The meme, which is stuffed with Venu Madhav’s iconic ‘kathalo neethi’ dialogues has struck a chord with viewers and has been widely shared on social media platform in a lighter note.
The memes should take in a lighter note, on the other side, the film exhibits strong message against the child abuse.
