How Big Indian Entertainment Industry By 2028, 3.65 Lakh Cr!

The biggest entertainment for the citizens in India is cinema, politics and cricket. Needless to say that people go to any extreme for their pleasure in the segments. Interestingly, post covid, many industries struggled to survive but the entertainment and media industry is flourishing.

The compound annual growth rate of the Indian Entertainment and media is projected to reach ₹3,65,000 crore by 2028, which is 8.3%, significantly outpacing the global average of 4.6%.

There are several parameters that are pushing for this unimaginable growth. The digital advertising, OTT platforms, online gaming, and advancements in AI technology will help the industry reach ₹3,65,000 in the next 3-4 years.

The projected CAGR for Digital Advertising is15.6%, which is ₹85,000 crore by 2028). India is expected to taste highest growth rate among the top 15 global markets.

The online gaming industry in India is expected to have a projected CAGR of 19.2% which is ₹39,583 crore by 2028.

The OTT platforms combined will result in a projected CAGR of 14.9, which is ₹35,061 crore by 2028. India is the fastest-growing OTT market globally at the moment and this will further grow.

The Out-of-Home (OOH) Advertising has a current Growth of 12.9% and the future CAGR will rise to 7.6%.

The traditional print advertising will have an expected CAGR of 3%. The projection is that India will become the third-largest print market by 2028.

The very important cinema market will have a projected CAGR of 14.1%.

It is expected that 80 crore broadband subscriptions and 78 crore internet users will emerge by 2028. 55 crore smartphone users will be emerged too.
