Posters Troubles Posed At Producers? IT raids on prominent Telugu producers were the big news yesterday in the Telugu media. This was not the first time that producers’ houses and properties were raided. We have seen many such instances in the past. However, raids on two top production houses which delivered big hits in recent times, are gaining attention.
Dil Raju, who recently scored a blockbuster with Sankranthiki Vasthunnam and also released his most expensive film Game Changer, was the victim of IT raids yesterday. The official also raided Mythri Movie Makers who scored a blockbuster with Pushpa 2 recently.
Now, there is a discussion being held on whether the posters released by these producers about their films’ collections were the reason behind IT raids. Mythri Movie Makers have been bragging about Pushpa 2’s collections right from day 1. They promoted the film by releasing posters that read, “500 crores in 3 days” and “1000 crores in one week.” They even published Pushpa 2 as the biggest blockbuster in India, surpassing Baahubali 2.
On the other side, Dil Raju’s banner published a poster saying that Game Changer collected Rs. 186 crores on the first day. It was reported that officials are examining the income and expenditure of Game Changer and Sankranthiki Vasthunnam. Reportedly, it was found out that there has been a disparity in profits brought by Sankranthiki Vasthunnam and the tax paid for it. The raids are being continued on the second day as well. The IT officials are raiding Pushpa 2 director Sukumar’s properties too. They picked up Sukumar, who was returning from abroad, directly from the Airport for raids.
Many people on social media opined that the figures on posters of the latest films were far from reality and were released only to satisfy fans. They say posters that were released to please fans have landed producers in IT troubles. They further wondered what was the reason behind raiding these producers and directors’ homes for two days.
