Suriya43 Is Now #SK25, But Who Owns ‘Parasakthi’?

Suriya43 earlier announced to be directed by Sudha Kongara is now #SK25. The entire star cast is changed and today the teaser along with the title has been released. The multistarrer has actors Siva Karthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, Atharva, and Sreeleela in lead roles. The movie is all set for release in Telugu with the same title. However, there is a big controversy with the title.

Another movie with the same title is coming out with Vijay Antony in the lead role and the actor is producing it, while Arun Prabhu is directing the film. Vijay Antony’s movie is titled ‘ParaaShakthi’. Vijay Antony released a letter issued by the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce mentioning the ‘Paraashakthi’ Telugu title was registered by his production house on July 22, 2024.

Amid this, the AVM Productions and Entertainment banner also released a statement confirming that their 73-year-old cult classic movie ‘Parasakthi’ is now passed to the Dawn Pictures which is producing the Siva Karthikeyan starrer in Sudha Kongara’s direction.

Meanwhile, the Telugu Film Producer’s Council’s letter dated 11th of January 2025 came out confirming that the title ‘Parasakthi’ is registered by Dawn Pictures (written as Dwan in the letter, typo?) and is valid up to 10th of January 2026.

There were similar instances with the same title controversy earlier too. It has to be seen how this one ends.
