The first single from Hari Hara Veera Mallu, Maata Vinaali, which was unveiled a few days ago caught the attention of music lovers because it was Pawan Kalyan who lent his vocals for it.
The thought-provoking lyrics for this philosophical campfire ballad were penned by noted dialect writer Penchal Das who is credited with writing numerous folk songs in Tollywood films. He became immensely popular with Dhaari Choodu from Krishnarjuna Yuddham and Yeda Poyinado from Aravinda Sametha.
His unique style of singing and meaningful lyrics are why Penchal Das stands apart for such songs. Interestingly, he was the first choice to croon the Maata Vinaali song from Hari Hara Veera Mallu. However, due to some unknown reasons, Pawan Kalyan came forward to sing it.
Penchal Das himself revealed this during pre pre-release event of Vishwak Sen’s Laila. When anchor Suma requested him to sing the song, Penchal reluctantly sang a few lines on the stage and later revealed that he was supposed to sing the song, but later Pawan Kalyan did it.
Though he didn’t disclose the reasons why Pawan Kalyan crooned it, Penchal admitted that he initially tuned the song as he wanted to give his vocals. In Laila, Penchal sung the electrifying Oho Rathamma song which received a very solid response.
