Nag Ashwin to Direct Alia Bhatt for a Female-Centric Film?

After the massive success of Kalki 2898 AD, speculation is rife that director Nag Ashwin has completed the script and initial pre-production work for its sequel. However, there is no clarity on when the shooting will commence. While producer Ashwini Dutt hinted at a possible June start, Prabhas’ packed schedule could make this tough.

With The Raja Saab, Spirit, and Fauji already lined up, Prabhas reportedly has a packed schedule. This has cast uncertainty over Kalki 2’s timeline. Given the potential delay, Nag Ashwin is now reportedly considering another pan-India film.

Reports from Mumbai suggest that Nag Ashwin has already had preliminary discussions with Alia Bhatt for a female-centric project. She is said to be his first choice, but scheduling conflicts may pose a challenge again.

Alia is currently committed to Alpha, Love and War, and Chamunda, all in various stages of production. If Nag Ashwin wants her for the lead role, he must coordinate dates carefully.

Adding to the speculation, Nag Ashwin also has a pending commitment with the AVM production house, which he might fulfill with Alia Bhatt. Meanwhile, there are unconfirmed reports that Chiranjeevi requested that he supervise Vishwambhara’s VFX work.

With multiple possibilities on the table, it remains to be seen whether Nag Ashwin will proceed with Kalki 2, finalize his film with Alia Bhatt, or take up another major project.
