Releasing two star-driven films from the same banner within days of each other was once rare, but Mythri Movie Makers changed the game with Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy during Sankranthi 2023. Both the films emerged as big blockbusters. The production house is now following a similar approach but across pan-India.
Mythri Movie Makers is set to repeat the strategy with Ajith’s Good Bad Ugly and Sunny Deol’s Jaat, both scheduled for April 10.
Good Bad Ugly is generating huge buzz, especially after the disappointment of Vidamuyarchi (Patthudala). Leaks from director Adhik Ravichandran’s team have further fueled excitement, with trade analysts predicting a ₹100 crore opening if the film receives positive talk.
Meanwhile, Jaat—Sunny Deol’s follow-up to Gadar 2—has high expectations in North India. With no major competition, it is expected to attract mass-action lovers and could generate business worth ₹500 crore across theatrical and non-theatrical rights.
If both films capitalize on their hype, Mythri Movie Makers could once again score a double jackpot, proving that simultaneous star releases can be a winning formula at the box office.
