Producer Dil Raju got relief from the Supreme Court concerning the copyright case filed against his film Mr Perfect. The Supreme Court put a stay on the City Civil Court’s order to take action against Dil Raju.
Getting into details, writer Mummudi Syamala Devi filed a case against Dil Raju in 2017 alleging that his film Mr Perfect was copied from her novel, “Naa Manasu Ninnu Kore”. As per her complaint, Madhapur Police filed a copyright case against Dil Raju. The City Civil Court, upon hearing arguments from both sides and after examining pieces of evidence, ordered an action against Dil Raju.
Later, Dil Raju went to the Supreme Court requesting to quash the City Civil Court’s orders. On Monday, a bench featuring Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice R Mahadevan took up the hearing of this case on Monday. Upon hearing arguments, the Supreme Court put a stay on the Civil Court’s orders and postponed the next hearing for two weeks.
Directed by Dasarath, Mr Perfect is a 2011 film that featured Prabhas, Kajal Aggarwal and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles. Devi Sri Prasad composed the music for it.
