Pooja Hegde’s Craze Moves To Chennai From Hyderabad

Pooja Hegde debuted with the film Oka Laila Kosam in Telugu but shot to fame only with Duvvada Jagannadham. Post the release of DJ, Pooja has emerged as the heroine in demand. There was a time when every director and producer ran after Pooja’s dates. She worked simultaneously on Maharshi, Radhe Shyam and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, which proved her craze back then. Cut to the present, Pooja is not active in Telugu but is experiencing a similar phase in Tamil.

Pooja Hegde’s last film in Telugu was Acharya where she got a part to play. Later, she appeared in a special song of F3. Both the films were released in 2022. In the last three years, Pooja was supposed to be a part of Guntur Kaaran but she opted out of it. It’s been five years that she signed a film in Telugu.

Interestingly, Pooja Hegde signed five films in Tamil in the last few years. One of them is Beast with Vijay. The other one is Retro with Suriya which is due for a release. The third one is Coolie with Superstar Rajinikanth. The word is that she will be doing an item song in the film, technically making it the first Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film with an item song.

Apart from these films, Pooja also signed Kanchana 4, the much-awaited horror comedy. She will also be reuniting with Vijay in his last film Jana Nayagan.

While it is not a case of Telugu filmmakers not approaching her, it appears that she has consciously chosen to focus on Tamil cinema for now. If Pooja meets success, she might aggressively sign more films in Tamil and the Telugu filmmakers already found alternatives in the form of Meenakshi Chaudhary, Rashmika Mandanna and other rising heroines.
