March 7 – The Day Of Dubbed Films

Though a good number of dubbed films are getting released in Telugu only a few are making their presence felt. While Ajith’s Pattudala failed to enthrall the audience, Return of the Dragon and Marco managed to survive. Before that, Kanguva ended up as a disaster while Amaran scored big.

Coming to this week’s releases, Aadi Pinisetty’s Sabdham is having a competition with another dubbed film Aghathiyaa. The week after that is completely occupied by the dubbed films.

March 7th has three movies from three different languages released in Telugu. The most popular at the moment, Chhaava is coming to theaters with its Telugu version. The movie already garnered great applause from the North audience, however, it has to be seen if the Telugu audience could connect the emotion of Chattrapati Shambaji like the North audience did.

From Tamil comes GV Prakash’s Kingston, a fantasy horror film directed by Kamal Prakash. GV Prakash and Divya Bharathi played the main leads in the movie.

Officer On Duty from Malayalam is also on the March 7th release list. Known for producing the best crime thrillers, Malayalam filmdom has yet again come with this no-nonsence thriller. The movie has Priyamani and Kunchacko Boban in the mail leads. The crime thriller is directed by Jithu Ashraf and written by Shahi Kabir.

It has to be seen which among the three different genre films emerge successful in Telugu.
