Delay In Allu Arjun’s Next Is Justified!

It has been three months since the release of Pushpa 2: The Rule, but Allu Arjun has yet to start his next project officially. At the recent Mad Square media meet, producer Naga Vamsi hinted that Bunny’s film with Trivikram Srinivas might commence in the second half of 2025, though he didn’t sound entirely confident. This suggests that script development and pre-production might take longer than expected. But, there’s more to the ‘delay’, which is practically justifiable.

Allu Arjun emerged as the biggest commercial hero in Indian cinema in recent times. With Trivikram taking some more time in shaping up the script for his film with Bunny, speculations are rife that Allu Arjun collaborates with Atlee. The official confirmation is pending because the team has not arrived at a conclusion regarding the film’s budget.

Initially, the film was planned to be jointly produced by Geetha Arts and Sun Pictures. Still, the production houses were reportedly shocked by the staggering remuneration demands—₹150 crore for Allu Arjun, ₹100 crore for Atlee, and additional costs for the rest of the cast, bringing the total budget beyond ₹300 crore. With production expenses estimated at another ₹200 crore, the project’s funding has already crossed the ₹500 crore mark at the initial stage.

While Pushpa grossed ₹1,800 crore globally, insiders argue that such numbers are not guaranteed for every film. Pushpa had brand value and massive openings that aligned with Allu Arjun’s star power, but the same expectations cannot be placed on every project. Additionally, Atlee’s past hits have primarily followed a formulaic approach, making it uncertain whether his name alone can pull in a pan-India audience.

Given these financial and strategic considerations, the Allu camp believes the delay in finalizing Atlee’s film is justified. Even Allu Arjun is also not in an immediate hurry to cash the craze of Pushpa because he realizes that there will be a huge celebration at the theatres whenever he arrives. Owing to the impatience of fans and hurried decisions, it is better to delay the process than get into a mess.

Even otherwise, if Atlee’s film does not happen, Trivikram will have good time completing the script and even with the delay, they could come with a confident product in hand.
