Piracy has been worrying the Telugu film industry once again. Recent films like Game Changer and Thandel became victims of piracy in the last two months. The HD prints of these films were out within a day of their respective theatrical releases. It is high time for producers to address and combat this issue.
When asked about how the industry is looking at this threat, producer Dil Raju said that the piracy problem is only for the producer who became a victim of it and the rest don’t care about it. He added that there is no unity in the film industry which is why several transformational changes aren’t being implemented.
He stated, “The pain is only for the producer whose film was released in that week, on that Friday, Saturday and Sunday. After that, no one cares about the issue. There is no unity in the industry. If we are united, we can change things but that doesn’t happen. We should bring a revolution to solve the issue. For that to happen, all producers should understand that pain and join hands.”
Dil Raju stated that until now, no producer has approached him seeking a resolution to this film. “Still, as a responsible producer and FDC president, I am planning to hold a meeting with the police department soon and see how can we battle this issue,” he said.
He went on to say, “It is time for producers to wake up. Game Changer has been pirated. Thandel has been pirated. Tomorrow, your film may also face the same issue. Thus, producers whose films are under production or who are yet to start their project, should come forward and fight together.”
