Lokesh Kanagaraj is one of the top directors in Tamil cinema who has a 100% success record in his career. Besides his success streak, Lokesh is also known for wrapping up his films in fewer days. The latest addition to this list is his upcoming directorial Coolie, which wrapped up its entire shoot in 150-175 working days.
Despite having a huge star cast, including Superstar Rajinikanth, Upendra, Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Shruti Haasan, and Soubin Shahir, Lokesh managed to complete the entire film in around 8 months. His pace is definitely a lesson to Telugu directors, who take 2-3 years to finish one film.
Right from Maanagaram, Lokesh has been completing his films in fewer days, no matter how big the star cast is. His first film, Maanagaram, was completed in 45 days. His second film, Kaithi, was wrapped up in 62 nights. His next three films, Master, Vikram, and Leo, were completed in 129, 110, and 125 days, respectively. All three films featured big actors like Kamal Haasan, Vijay, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, and Sanjay Dutt.
Even Coolie also featured a huge star cast as mentioned above and still, Lokesh managed to complete it on time. This proves his planning and precision during production. In addition, he scored success in every film, making him a dream director for producers.
Many young Telugu directors should take a page from Lokesh’s book and learn from him about how to complete a big pan-India film in less than 200 days.
