A particular trend in the movie industry is the male stars romancing the female actors, half of their age or sometimes more than half of their age. We have seen in the recent times when Mahesh Babu, Ravi Teja, Chiranjeevi and many others being criticized for romancing heroines of less age. The same trends exist in Bollywood too and Salman Khan is facing criticism now. However, he gave a fitting answer to all the trollers.
During a recent media interaction, Salman Khan addressed the criticism, clarifying that Rashmika herself has no problem in romancing him and that itself will shut everything down.
“The age gap is not too much. I know the age gap is 31 yrs. The heroine has no problem. The heroine’s father has no problem. Soon Rashmika will marry, she may become mother to a daughter. When she grow up, I will work with her. I think Rashmika will give her nod,” said Salman Khan, to which Rashmika smiled in acceptance.
The fact is that the shelf life of a heroine in this glamour industry is very less compared to that of male stars and it is one of the major reasons why heroines fade out quickly while the stars continue to have a survival. The filmmakers run after those heroines who enjoy a huge fan base and craze, irrespective of their age.
Salman and Rashmika acted together in the film Sikander, directed by AR Murugadoss. The film is hitting the screens on March 30th, 2025.
