IPL 2025: Telugu Boy Makes His Debut, What Next?

The Telugu Heritage in the Indian Premier League is growing every single season. Earlier it was Ambati Rayudu, who carried the baton, which was followed by the likes of Tilak Varma and Nitish Kumar Reddy.

Now it is the turn of another young Telugu talented boy to make his debut in the IPL and he is Satyanarayana Raju.

Satyanarayana Raju, born in Kakinada on July 10, 1999, is a domestic cricketer from Andhra Pradesh. A right-arm medium-fast bowler, he impressed in the 2024 Andhra Premier League and 2023-24 Ranji Trophy.

With strong performances in domestic cricket, he was signed by Mumbai Indians for IPL 2025, debuting against Chennai Super Kings on March 23, 2025 today. It must have been a huge occasion for the young Telugu boy who debut for a mighty successful franchise like Mumbai Indians and also play his first game against Chennai Super Kings.

Raju was bought by Mumbai Indians for a base price of ₹30 lakh and he debuted today. It has to be seen if he can be as consistent and effective as his earlier counterparts Nitish Kumar Reddy and Tilak Varma.
