Kannappa happens to be one of the major production ventures from Tollywood, originally announced for release on April 25. In line with this, Vishnu spearheaded the promotional campaign and aggressively promoted the film.
However, the latest communication from the Manchu hero reveals that the film’s release has been postponed by a few weeks due to delays in post-production activities.
Vishnu shared on social media that there is one particular sequence in the film that requires extensive CGI, which is taking longer than expected.
“Bringing #KANNAPPA to life has been an incredible journey, and we are committed to delivering a cinematic spectacle that meets the highest standards.
To ensure this, we need a few more weeks to perfect a key episode requiring extensive VFX work. This means the release of the project will be slightly delayed,” Vishnu stated regarding the postponement.
About the spiritual significance this film holds for him, Vishnu remarked, “Kannappa is a tribute to Lord Shiva’s greatest devotee, and we want to present it in the most extraordinary way possible. Our team is working tirelessly, and we promise it will be worth the wait. We’ll be back soon with an update and the new release date!”
For now, it has been communicated that the film stands postponed, with the new release date to be announced soon. Vishnu hinted that the new release could be a few weeks from now, with an official announcement to follow accordingly.
