Telugu cinema imported a lot of talented actors from other movie industries. Shine Tom Chacko is also one among them. He is undoubtedly a talented actor in Malayalam cinema but he is not being utilised properly in Telugu. Tom Chacko debuted with Dasara as a villain which brought him a good name. But, the subsequent roles he took up after that did not match his potential.
After Dasara, Chacko played the antagonist in Naga Shaurya’s Rangabali, but the role didn’t leave a mark. After that, he was seen in an under-utilised role in Devara: Part 1. Following that, he appeared in Daku Maharaj, which, despite being somewhat okay, did not boost his popularity.
Very recently, Chacko was seen in the role of Victor, a police officer, in Robin Hood. However, he did not receive a good name for the same but instead was criticized for taking up a character that has no meaning.
The problem seems to be the kind of roles he is being offered in Tollywood, which do not align with his strengths as an actor. Rather than portraying routine and clichéd characters, Shine Tom Chacko needs roles that challenge his acting skills and showcase his range.
Moreover, Hema Chandra’s dubbing did not suit the actor at all. He must change the perspective with which he is taking up new roles. Hope he finds the success that he truly deserves.
