In just five days, Good Bad Ugly is set to release. While the film’s release date was confirmed for April 10, the promotional activities haven’t progressed as swiftly as expected, leaving fans disappointed. However, it’s not the production fault. Ajith has always kept a distance from publicity. His philosophy is that if the film is good, the audience will come to the theaters without much promotion. But this doesn’t sit well with his fans, who want him to engage in events, make appearances, and give interviews, sharing exciting details. None of this has happened for Good Bad Ugly.
Yesterday, the Tamil version’s trailer was released, and director Adhik Ravichandran incorporated everything that fans love—action, comedy, fun, and high-energy moments. Although there have been some comments about GV Prakash Kumar’s BGM, it’s better to reserve judgment after watching the full movie. The movie doesn’t need much buzz in Tamil; it will do well automatically. After all, even films with pre-release negative talk, like Vidamuyarchi, which had dry content, earned over ₹100 crores. So, one wonders how well Good Bad Ugly will perform. However, the real issue lies in the Telugu market and other languages.
Ajith’s market in Telugu isn’t as strong. Big hits like Veeram and Vedalam performed average in Telugu. Mythri is planning a massive release for Good Bad Ugly in Telugu, but Ajith’s lack of cooperation remains a challenge. He rarely participates in events or gives interviews. This is a common pattern in Tamil, as stars like Vijay and Nayanthara also show minimal interaction with fans. Meanwhile, the competition for Good Bad Ugly, Jack starring Siddhu Jonnalagadda, is tough, and Mythri is also producing Sunny Deol’s Jaat, adding further competition.
