Why did Vijay Sethupathi Give Chance to Puri?

Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi agreed to do a film with director Puri Jagannath. The news about the project shook the film industry as no one expected the combination to kick off. However, a section of Tamil audiences and the fans of Vijay Sethupathi are unhappy that the actor is working with a flop director. In a recent interview, Vijay answered as to why he agreed to do this film.

For Vijay Sethupathi, the result of his directors’ previous movies does not matter. All that he looks for is the story. Vijay has revealed the same. “I do not consider the result of the previous movies. If I like the story, I decide to do the film. Puri narrated me a story which I liked. I have not done a film like this in the past and I always want to pick new stories so that I don’t repeat myself,” said the actor.

Tabu will share the screenspace with Vijay in this film. Reacting about this, Vijay said, “She is a great performer and I have not worked with her before. I look forward to working with her.”

Puri Jagannath made Double iSmart earlier and it ended up as a big disaster at the box office. Many opined that Puri’s career has come to an end but his fans expect that the director bounces back with Vijay Sethupathi’s next.
