Violence In Movies Is a Trend Reaching An End: Nani

Natural Star Nani is currently busy with the promotions of his new film HIT 3. The film gears up for a grand release on May 1st. Already, the film’s promotional material clearly hinted that the movie has an ample dose of violence, which is not the usual trend with Nani’s movies. When asked to share his point of view on the audience normalizing the trend of violent films, Nani shared something interesting.

Without defending his film or the violence dosage in his movie, Nani quietly accepted that he is also a part of the trend, which is inevitable.

When we asked how the censorship differs from theatrical medium to OTT medium, citing an example of how Waltair Veerayya was rated U/A for theatres and then A for Netflix, Nani agreed with us that intense violence has been normalised.

Sharing his viewpoint, Nani said, “Yes, it is a cycle. We also must join the trend to complete it.”

Nani also added how portrayals of scenes also changed over the years and transitioned through different trends. He shared, “Once upon a time, to convey a kissing scene, the filmmakers used to show a shaking tree. Now, liplock is a widely accepted trend these days to convey it.”

Nani also cited an example of Hollywood film Kill Bill’s success, inspiring many to try a similar kind of movie. After a point, the trend subsided. “Similarly, if you feel it is too much of violence, that means, the end is very near,” he said.

Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, HIT 3 also features Srinidhi Shetty.
