RR: From Mallesham to 23, A Voice for the Voiceless

Raj Rachakonda is a multifaceted talent whose career bridges the worlds of technology and cinema. Based in the United States, Raj is an IT programmer with a deep-rooted passion for storytelling. His parallel journey as a filmmaker in India has earned him critical acclaim for directing thought-provoking and socially resonant films.

Raj made a strong directorial debut with Mallesham (2019), a biographical drama that captured the inspiring story of Chintakindi Mallesham, an innovator from rural Telangana. The film was praised for its authenticity and emotional depth. He continued to explore human relationships and urban isolation in 8 A.M. Metro (2023), a nuanced narrative featuring relatable characters and introspective storytelling.

His upcoming film, “23”, promises to be a powerful social commentary on discrimination and violence in India. With a narrative woven through three interlinked stories of the 1991 Tsunduru massacre, the 1993 Chilkaluripeta bus burning, and the 1997 Jubilee Hills car bomb incidents, “23” reflects Raj’s commitment to meaningful cinema that challenges societal norms and fosters dialogue on issues of justice and human dignity.
Raj Rachakonda’s work combines technical expertise with artistic vision, making him a unique voice in contemporary Indian cinema.

“23”, directed by acclaimed filmmaker of Mallesham and 8AM Metro is releasing on May 16th.
