Actor Kamal Haasan is under fire for some unabashed intimacy. The trailer of upcoming action drama ‘Thug Life’ that dropped by the makers sparked a debate on social media not for its action but for 70-year-old aged gangster Kamal kissing 41-year old co-star Abhirami.
Fans on social media are at it, because Kamal at the age of 70 is seen liplocking a woman half his age. This seems to have appeared ridiculous for a few fans.
It may be recalled that Tamil fans made a massive hue and cry over Telugu stars (senior actors) romancing young female co-stars — be it Ravi Teja for ‘Mr Bachchan’ or Nandamuri Balakrishna for ‘Daaku Maharaj’.
This time Kamal is in soup for an intimate scene in the ‘Thug Life’. Fans were taken aback by Kamal’s liplock with Abhirami in the trailer. In another scene he is seen flirting with actress Trisha. Now it’s the turn of Telugu fans to hit back vehemently at the way Kamal is being portrayed.
Fans felt that the liplock was incorporated to bring some hype around Thuglife and questioned filmmakers as to why it is placed in the trailer without even caring about the context.
Directed by Mani Ratnam, Thug Life is one of the most-awaited flicks of the year. Promising an intense gangster drama, the film boasts actors Silambarasan, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Abhirami, Joju George, Nasser among other actors. Music maestro A.R Rahman is composing the music the film is being produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Madras Talkies banners.
