Mani Ratnam Denies Rumors of Film with Naveen Polishetty

Mani Ratnam is known for teaming up with senior heroes and veteran stars. He rarely works with young actors. The last time he worked was for Ok Kanmani, which starred Dulquer Salmaan in the lead. Interestingly, a new rumor is doing rounds on social media that Mani Ratnam plans to team up with Naveen Polishetty after the release of Thug Life. However, there is no truth to the rumor.

Mani Ratnam was asked the same question in a recent interview. He then replied, “Not at all” and added that this is a news for him as well.

Addressing these rumors online about his next film, starring Naveen Polishetty and Rukmini Vasanth, Mani Ratnam said, “I have no clue what they are talking about. I’m working on a couple of scripts, don’t know what will materialize.”

Interestingly, Mani Ratnam did not take much time last time to materialise Thug Life, right after the Ponniyin Selvan franchise. As of now, he did not finalize anything and we have to see if he takes more time or launch something in no time.

Coming to Thug Life, starring Kamal Haasan, Abirami, Trisha and Simbhu, the film is heading for a release on June 5th, 2025.
