“I Know He Gets It”: Kamal Haasan on Nani’s Viral Compliment

Kamal Haasan is the dictionary of acting for many actors in the film industry. Natural Star Nani is not an exception. During the promotions of HIT 3, Nani opened up of how Kamal’s scene from Virumandi is an inspiration for him. Now, in a recent interview during the promotions of Thug Life, Kamal acknowledged Nani’s comments.

During HIT 3 promotions, Nani said, “I think cinema has given a lot of things to us and directors. And if we gave anything back to cinema, that is Kamal Haasan, sir. I think he is a gift to cinema itself. He has excelled in so many things he tried in the Indian film industry. I remember a scene from Virumandi where Kamal sir wakes up from sleep. His performance is so organic that I watched the scene multiple times just to see if it feels artificial but it is so natural. I am inspired by that scene and tried to do something like that in my film,” said Nani.

Back then, the video went viral on social media and most surprisingly, it did reach Kamal Haasan. In a latest interview, when the host tried to bring the topic and even before he divulged the full details, Kamal was quick to say that Nani had spoke about it recently.

“Just like how I don’t have to say ‘Thanks, Nani’ out loud because I know he gets it, even in cinema, I don’t need to explain everything because the audience can understand it all through how I perform the scenes,” said Kamal Haasan.

It is indeed a big achievement coming from Kamal Haasan that he actually watched what Nani had told.
