Trisha Needs ‘Taste of Telugu’

Trisha Krishnan is undoubtedly one of the glamour queens of South cinema. Having gained a star status with back-to-back hits from Telugu and Tamil, the actress had already witnessed a peak.

At some point, her graph declined, but with 96, she bounced back at the box office. If Trisha is still having a survival today, it is because of the success of 96, but slowly, she is losing the charm once again. Hence, the commentators in the film industry suggest that she needs the taste of Telugu cinema more.

Although it is not declared, Trisha is clearly having a second innings now. In this second innings, which began in 2018, with 96, she did only films in Tamil. The only exception was a Telugu web series titled Brinda for Sony LIV. Fortunately, Brinda clicked and she received a lot of positive responses from the audience. However, Trisha did not spend enough time focusing on grabbing Telugu movies.

Petta, Paramapadham Vilayattu, Raangi, The Road, Leo, Goat, Identity, Vidaamuyarchi, Godo Bad Ugly and Thug Life are the films she has done after 96 except Leo. She worked with Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Vijay and Ajith in her second innings but none of these movies helped her to carry forward the success of 96. However, the Ponniyin Selvan franchise gave her a much-needed boost which was also not carried forward because of the poor choice of scripts.

At one point, Trisha was supposed to do Acharya but she walked out of the project. Later, she did Brinda web series and then signed up for Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara. Although the character of Trisha and other details are not revealed, the fans expect that this could put Trisha back in the number one position. Especially after Trisha received much flack on social media for Vidaamuyarchi, Good Bad Ugly and Thug Life, the fans hope that Vishwambhara will revive her past glory.

Vishwambhara is suffering from back to back postponements and that’s a different story. Though the film’s result might affect all others, the leading lady will definitely have a cake walk if the fans stuck to her character. Since it is also a socio fantasy film, the fans are expecting a good full length role to Trisha.

Considering the lineup she had so far, Trisha might need the taste of Telugu cinema. With Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, Balakrishna and Nagarjuna actively making movies, she should consider lobbying some roles for her in any of their movies. If she acts in two solid Telugu hits, it will help her win big time.
