From Krrish To Mirai: Upcoming Indian Superhero Films

Superhero films are becoming a trend in Indian cinema of late, and many upcoming films are being made with this concept. Until now, we have seen Indian superhero films like Krish, Hanu-Man, and Minnal Murali. Let’s have a look at the upcoming films that are arriving with the same concept:

1. Mirai:
Starring Teja Sajja in the lead role, Mirai is a superhero film directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni. Manchu Manoj plays the antagonist in the film. The recently released teaser also got a good response from the audience. Mirai is slated for worldwide release on September 5.

2. Allu Arjun – Atlee Film:
Allu Arjun and Atlee joined hands for a mega-budget film, bankrolled by Sun Pictures. Touted to be a superhero film with heavy VFX, this movie will reportedly feature Allu Arjun in multiple roles. Apparently, there are five heroines in the film. Deepika Padukone was announced as the first female lead. We hear that the likes of Janhvi Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur will also be seen in the film.

3. Vishwambhara:
Megastar Chiranjeevi is currently working on the socio-fantasy film Vishwambhara, directed by Vassishta. We hear that though Chiru will be seen as a common man in the film, there will be some superhero elements in it. Vishwambhara will hit the screens later this year.

4. Aamir Khan – Lokesh Kanagaraj Film:
Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj will soon team up for a superhero film. Aamir announced the same in a recent interview and said that the film will hit the floors next year.

5. Krrish 4:
Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan turns director with the fourth instalment of his superhit superhero franchise, Krrish. Krrish 4 is expected to hit the floors later this year and may get released either in 2026 or 2027.

Apart from these projects, there are Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe’s Adheera and Mahakali, ‘MAD’ fame Kalyan Shankar’s film with Ravi Teja, Shaktimaan’s Film Adaptation, Nivin Pauly’s Multiverse Manmadhan and Unni Mukundan’s untitled film, which will also be made with the superhero concept.
