When a Pan-India production house like Mythri Movie Makers backs a small-scale film like 8 Vasantalu, it’s a testament to the strength of its content.
At the film’s pre-release event, director Phanindra Narsetti expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mythri Movie Makers for supporting the project. He also praised lead actress Ananthika Sanilkumar for her passion and dedication.
“Ananthika never even discussed remuneration for the role, and her commitment speaks volumes. For a 17-year-old to understand the value of money and still choose not to take it, that’s truly remarkable.
Don’t miss the first scene, because the entire film unfolds in reverse. Many have asked why I didn’t make a commercial film. If you’re looking for something beyond love, the fight sequence set in Varanasi delivers an emotional punch more powerful than anything else.”
Ananthika, in turn, thanked her director and the production house for the opportunity. “Though I’ve done a few films before, nothing has been as profound as 8 Vasantalu. Playing Shuddhi, a complex, strong, and layered character, was a dream come true, and it’s all thanks to Phani.
This film has it all. It has action, emotion, and love. I felt a deep connection to the character, and I believe audiences will too. This is a very special film for me.”
The producers shared that casting Ananthika was the result of an extensive search across the country. The role demanded someone proficient in both classical dance and martial arts, and she fit the bill perfectly.
