Filmmaker Venu Sriram is considered to be a hit director after he scored a hit with ‘Middle Class Abbayi’ starring Natural Star Nani and later ‘Vakeel Saab’ starring Pawan Kalyan.
It was during the same time, the director was confident of pitching another potential script, which was later titled as ‘Thammudu’, to actor Nani. But Nani rejected it as he felt rot in the script.
Nani is someone who catches the vibe in any aspiring storyteller. And he smelt something amiss with Venu Sriram’s script. When the script was declined by Nani, Venu had pitched another script titled Icon to star Allu Arjun during the same time. And it got shelved with Bunny in the year 2022.
The script ‘Thammudu’ landed on the lap of actor Nithiin. This is the film which got released recently in theatres, and received a very lukewarm response from audiences.
Nithiin might have “agreed or compelled” to do the film ‘Thammudu’ as he has been delivering flops back-to-back. Nani declined the script even though he scored a hit with ‘MCA’ with the same director.
If Venu Sriram wants to stay in the game, he should focus on fresh and unique stories instead of sticking to routine ones.
